You'll see an increasing number of well-funded efforts to apply AI to current tech (such as solar) to accelerate development, broaden applications, and amplify impact.
Why? Climate Crisis. Really the only way we will "solve" global warming is with accelerated tech. We simply have to move faster and bigger. You separating garbage just isn't going to get us there at this point.
Heliogen Inc. is one such effort. Bill Gates and billionare Patrick Soon Shiong have married AI with an existing solartech to make it exponentially more powerful and thus competitive at an industrial level with fossil fuel which creates the carbon that is heating us up.
