You'll see an increasing number of well-funded efforts to apply AI to current tech (such as solar) to accelerate development, broaden applications, and amplify impact.
Why? Climate Crisis. Really the only way we will "solve" global warming is with accelerated tech. We simply have to move faster and bigger. You separating garbage just isn't going to get us there at this point. Heliogen Inc. is one such effort. Bill Gates and billionare Patrick Soon Shiong have married AI with an existing solartech to make it exponentially more powerful and thus competitive at an industrial level with fossil fuel which creates the carbon that is heating us up. Great adjacent article this month on big picture by Brad Plumer "Five Global Trends Shaping Our Climate Future". Spoiler, there's good news and bad news.

![]() This is "my" #mycelium which I learned how to "run" (grow) yesterday in a Biotech Without Borders wkshp led by razor sharp #mycologist Craig Trester. If you're not hip to mushrooms as a major force of the future, I highly recommend you check out the mind-blowing Fantastic Fungi documentary by Louie Schwartzberg at Brooklyn Academy of Music. Here's the trailer. Mycelium is about to blow up. We are realizing that it can be a game changer in a host of areas, from sustainable design (buildings to packaging) to near-miracle medicinal properties. Check out "Six Ways Mushrooms Can Save the World". In case you're wondering, my mycelium's name is "Fun Guy." 😊
More smart and hilarious #presentationtips for grownups courtesy of middle schoolers at my 24th school (Pine Street School near #WallStreet). If you missed Part 1, you can see it on their YouTube channel here. The kids are going viral at Goldman Sachs and other big corps. Check it out!
